Pupils from Kiltallagh National School in Castlemaine, enjoyed an inspiring visit to the European Parliament, hosted by Ireland South MEP Seán Kelly.

He said it was wonderful to see them visiting Brussels to experience the EU in action.

“Even at a young age, visits like this can spark a lifelong interest in how Europe works,” Mr Kelly said.

The group explored the Parliament, took part in engaging educational activities and had a first-hand look at the workings of the EU institutions. “

“You could see the excitement and energy in the room. These pupils were genuinely curious and eager to learn”, said Mr Kelly, a former teacher.

“There’s something special about seeing young people take such an interest in European affairs. The questions they asked and the observations they made were incredibly sharp.”

“These kinds of trips are more than just a tour. They’re about planting the seed and helping young people see that Europe is theirs too.”
