ACTOR and playwright Michael Hilliard Mulcahy, who is currently the drama facilitator with the Killarney Municipal District Council, will deliver a series of free drama workshops in February for anyone interested in acting.

The workshops are being held in the Killarney Cultural Centre on the weekends of the 11/12 and 18/19 February and will focus on scene work from the plays of John B Keane.

“John B Keane’s writing is a gift to actors. These scenes will be funny, dark and full of the lively rhythms of Kerry speech. It should make for a great four days of acting,” Michael said.

The workshops are open to anyone and suitable scene work will be available for everyone.

On the final day there will be a short presentation of the chosen scenes at the Killarney Cultural Centre to which all are welcome.

“I want people to have to opportunity to show their work at the end of the two weekends. Nothing beats the buzz of live performance and that’s where the learning really happens,” Michael added.

Places will be limited to a maximum of 14. For more information and to book a place contact the Kerry Arts Office on 066-7123541 or arts@kerrycoco.ie.
