The members have issued an appeal to anybody that might be able to assist them with a regular meeting venue to come forward.

Over 100 women regularly attend the meetings – currently held in the Killarney Avenue Hotel – and it provides an inclusive and safe environment for women to enjoy various activities.

Sheila Martin of the Phoenix Women’s Shed in Tralee is helping develop the Killarney group and she has urged local councillors and community representatives to help the women find a home.

The group first met in July and again in September and this week held its official launch at the Killarney Plaza Hotel where pianist and singer Jack Patrick Healy provided rousing entertainment.
