Several of Killarney’s most talented young soccer stars got a golden opportunity to showcase their skills in a hugely successful seven-a-side summer tournament organised by Killarney Athletic AFC and sponsored by Killarney Credit Union.

All the action took place at the Athletic grounds in Ferndale and there were some high-scoring and close encounters for the supporters to enjoy, particularly as the latter stages of the various age categories.

In the girl’s under 12 final the Golden Girls had a comfortable 6-0 victory over Blue Diamonds while in the boy’s under 10 decider, Tricky Hen registered a 3-1 victory over Tika Taka.

The boy’s under 12 showpiece was a more tighter affair with Ballers eventually overcoming a stubborn challenge from the Quill’s Menswear sponsored team with the only goal of the game.
