Every little helps – and the team at Tesco in Killarney has lived up to the company motto by making a generous donation to the Kerry Stars Special Olympics Club.
Iza Dian of Tesco turned up at the group’s training session at Spa GAA Club to hand over a cheque for just over €700 which was raised through the retail group’s blue token community fund.
The Kerry Stars were thrilled with the donation which will be put to very good use as the athletes prepare for the challenges ahead in the form of numerous competitions.
“It’s an incredible amount of money to us and we are very grateful,” said club chairperson Claire Doherty
The club is currently seeking volunteers to help out in a number of areas and would be delighted to hear from interested members of the public.
