Although a status yellow weather warning remains in place for Kerry until 9 o’clock this Monday night, the county seems to have avoided the worst of the harsher elements but flooding flashpoints have been reported and a number of sodden trees have come crashing down.
Met Éireann had issued a wind and rain warning from 11am today with predictions of damaging gusts of up to 110km/h thought possible.

A flooding advisory remains in place for the entire country until 11pm on Friday.
And while neighbouring Cork seems to have been worst hit, parts of Killarney National Park are still under water, with several popular walking trails inaccessible and car parks, like the facility at Ross Castle, off limits due to flooding.
Anglers at Ross Castle spent much of this afternoon draining bucket loads of water from their boats and it was a similar story for boats docked at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club where a large section of a long-standing tree has fallen neat the completely flooded pier.
