A CHARITY walk from the landmark Red Fox Inn to St Finian’s Holy Well in Glenbeigh is being planned for Easter Monday.
This is the sixth year of the walk which has already raised over €18,000 for local charities.
This year the proceeds will go to the community preschool in Cromane which is fundraising to help finance a new building and the organisers have stressed that every cent will help.
People will travel from all over Kerry to take part in the 8km looped route to St Finian’s Well, where there will be a special Mass before returning to the Red Fox for refreshments and live entertainment with Celtic Steps.
Bus transport will be in place for anyone who wishes to attend the mass but are unable to partake in the 8km walk.
Entry costs €20 per family, €10 per adult and €5 per child. Registration for the walk takes place at the Red Fox from 11am and all are welcome.
Cromane Community Preschool is a charitable and not for profit service that provides affordable quality preschool and afterschool services for the families of Cromane and its surrounds. The school will soon move to its new state-of-the-art facility in upper Cromane.
“We are very grateful to be chosen as the beneficiaries of this year’s Holy Well Walk,” said Mary Counihan, Chairperson of Cromane Community Preschool.
“It is a wonderful day out for all the family and we encourage everyone to come along and support it.”
