To mark the European Day of Parks and to celebrate National Biodiversity Week in Killarney National Park, NPWS conservation rangers will guide a walk and litter pick on this Saturday and it promises to be engaging for those participating and beneficial to the local environment.
The meeting point is the Upper Torc carpark at 10.00am and the event will finish by 1.00pm.
The European Day of Parks is a commemorative day for protected areas across Europe and the conservation rangers in Killarney want to bring the community together to focus on this year’s theme which is Build on our Roots.
The project aims to raise awareness about the responsibility people have to preserve the natural and cultural heritage for future generations and discover how to build on progress made.
Those planning to participate are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing and ato indicate attendance call the duty ranger on 064-6635215.
