With the results day in this year’s SuperValu Tidy Towns competition now just a week away, a timely short video has been released on social media by the event sponsors to highlight the great effort that has been made in Killarney.
The overall winner and the most successful towns and villages in the various categories will be announced at a reception in Croke Park next Friday and Killarney is hoping to at least repeat the success of last year when it was named Ireland’s tidiest large town.
The promotional video, filmed on a glorious day of autumn sunshine in Killarney, appropriately features two All-Ireland winners, David Clifford and Michael Gleeson, who have both experienced glory with Kerry in Croke Park.
It is narrated by comedian Bernard Casey and, in addition to highlighting the fantastic display of flowers, shrubs, murals and freshly painted buildings on the streets of Killarney, it also features interviews with some of the great volunteers who have rallied to the Tidy Towns cause.
The Tidy Towns competition winners will be revealed less than a fortnight after the various category winners in the 2024 Killarney Looking Good completion – sponsored by O’Mahony Media and MD O’Shea & Sons – were revealed.
