Two young men are killed

TWO young men have been killed in a horrific road traffic accident that occurred on the outskirts of Killarney in the early hours of this Saturday morning.
The identity of the victims, understood to be in their 20s, will not be released until relatives have been informed.
KIllarneyToday.com understands that their car left the road, careered into a ditch and hit a tree at Killaha, Glenflesk, on the main Killarney road.
It is believed the accident happened in the early hours of the morning but, because the vehicle was concealed in a ditch, it wasn’t discovered until it was spotted by an alert passing motorist shortly before noon today.
Emergency services rushed to the location but both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their remains have been removed to Kerry General Hospital where post mortem examinations will be conducted.
The road at Killaha was sealed off for several hours while a forensic examination of the scene was carried out. Traffic diversions were put in place throughout the afternoon.
