A WALK to mark International Women’s Day and raise funds for two worthy Kerry charities is being planned for Killarney on Sunday next, March 8
The Kerry Businesswomen’s Network has invited all Kerry women to lace up their trainers and walk 5km in a March for Change in support of Kerry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre, and the Kerry Women’s Refuge and Support Centre.
The event will start at 10.30am at the Golden Gates in front of Killarney House and Gardens and the route will be through the national park at Knockreer before ending again at Killarney House.
The Kerry Businesswomen’s Network has chosen International Women’s Day to show solidarity with two essential support organisations for women in Kerry on whose services so many women continue to rely on in their hour of need.
“This 5km walk is a way to support our fellow Kerry women, to raise funds for these much-needed resources and a time to reconnect or get to know other women in a more relaxed, unhurried way,” said chairperson Elin Sorensen.
She said the Kerry Businesswomen’s Network is dedicated to telling new and braver stories by helping women play a bigger, better, and more fulfilling role in their businesses and in society.
Tickets for the walk are €10 and are available on Eventbrite, Facebook and on kbn.ie.
