AN incredible 2,500 athletes competed in the Quest Adventure Killarney Adventure Race, a multi-activity one day event, which saw competitors roaming the Kerry mountains on foot, tackling Moll’s Gap on bicycles and lapping up the lakes on kayaks in the biggest Adventure Race in the world.
The fog on lofty Strickeen was not a problem for the seasoned competitors and the crystal blue, calm waters of Muckross Lake and rain-free rain mountains and roads provided the ideal course.
Organiser Oliver Kirwan, of Elite Event Management, commented: “The weather was perfect for such an epic and mammoth adventure. Killarney is truly the only location in the world that can accommodate such a race.”
