A KILLARNEY restaurateur who has spearheaded a smash hit YouTube channel has signed a major deal with a new television production company that will beam him into millions of homes throughout the globe.
Paul Treyvaud (pictured) has been snapped up to front a prime time cookery series by the new Irish TV satellite channel that will be launched by Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, on May 1.
The deal will initially involve nine 30-minute episodes being screened over nine consecutive weeks and Paul will follow that with the filming of a further 13 programmes at locations throughout Kerry.
The channel will be broadcast on Sky 191 and on Freesat 400 across Ireland and Europe. It will also be broadcast through other mediums including the PBS in America and it will reach a worldwide audience of 100 million homes.
“My dream has always been to land a TV deal and I’m thrilled that the incredible people behind the most exciting venture to come out of Ireland in a long time have picked me to be their TV chef,” said Paul who runs Treyvaud’s restaurant with his brother Mark.
He is particularly thrilled that the series will showcase Kerry’s stunning scenery as all of his work has been filmed in the great outdoors around the county.
“What I can guarantee viewers is a cookery show the likes of which has never been seen before. I will be showing off the incredible county of Kerry to a massive worldwide audience and it’s just so exciting,” he said.
