There was widespread shock in Kerry this Monday as news filtered through overnight of the death of man who drowned after he fell from a boat in Cromane.
The victim, who is very well known in Kerry rowing circles, got into difficulty in the water at Cromane at around 10 o’clock.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted and rushed to the scene but the body of the man, aged in his 50s, was taken from the water and he was pronounced dead a short time later.
His body was removed from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Kerry and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
