The Kerry School of Music Dance Academy is getting in step for a series of dance classes which will commence in Killarney on Saturday, September 16.

The venue will be the Church of the Resurrection Parish Centre on Park Road and the disciplines will include ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, tap and jazz classes.

Aileen got her earliest dance training and experience as a member of Kerry Youth Dance Theatre, later studying dance full-time in Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa and performing with Cork Youth Ballet Company.

She then moved to the UK to continue her training at the Centre Performing Arts College studying ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, commercial and tap and began studying for her dance teaching qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and is currently studying for her teaching qualification from the Royal Academy of Dance.

Aileen holds diplomas in Musical Theatre and in Dance Instruction and she has been introducing dance and musical theatre to primary and post-primary schools all over Kerry through residencies with the Education Centre and Kerry County Council.

She is also currently choreographing Phantom of the Opera for the multi-award-winning Light Opera Society of Tralee.

Aileen is delighted to be a faculty member at KSM Dance Academy and looks forward to opening her teaching practice in Killarney.
