Tim in the spotlight on the double

Tim Moynihan: In the spotlight on the double

Radio Kerry big match commentator Tim Moynihan is certainly the man-of-the-moment as he clears space on his mantelpiece for two very prestigious awards.

The colourful and informative broadcaster was thrilled to be crowned Regional Sports Broadcaster of the Year at the annual IMRO awards ceremony on Friday night.

A rousing cheer filled the plush Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny when Tim stepped on to the podium to accept the accolade which was awarded following a series of brilliant match commentaries – during which he brought games to life – throughout the season.

And Tim will be back in the spotlight next weekend when he joins his colleague and friend, expert analyst Ambrose O’Donovan, to accept the 2023 Laochra Chiarraí award from the Kerry Association in Dublin at a black tie gala in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel.
