The town of Killorglin is preparing for A Second Honeymoon – and it should generate plenty of laughs.

Killorglin CYMS Players are currently in the final stages of rehearsal for their forthcoming production of Sam Cree’s hilarious comedy of the same name which is set in a seaside B&B.

The play features, amongst others Mrs Leggett, a prim and proper landlady plus her dog Bimbo.

Ladies who act: Bridget Cahillane, Caitriona O’Sullivan, Elaine McGillycuddy, Gina O’Shea, Martha  Fleming and Sarah Pigott

Also involved are her flirty servant girl Vera, newly-weds Stephen and Sally Mitchell, Mrs Mansfield and her downtrodden husband Walter, long-term resident Mrs Hartnett and Agnes and Frank McIlroy who are returning to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.Add to the mix the hilariously camp Victor, Agnes’ old boyfriend Malcolm and the recently arrived American sailor Henry and you have all the ingredients for a hugely funny and entertaining evening of live theatre.

The show will feature a star-studded local cast including Elaine McGillycuddy, Caitriona O’Sullivan, Martha Fleming, Gina O’Shea, Donal Pigott, Bridget Cahillane, Mike Moriarty, Sarah Pigott, Karl Falvey, Vivian O’Callaghan, Brian O’Sullivan, Kevin Moriarty and Luna Fleming.

The play is directed by Brendan Reidy and Breeda Falvey and it will be staged in the CYMS Community Hall Killorglin on March 22, 23 and 24 and again on March 29 and 30 and April 1.
