The signs are good in the parish of Fossa

Welcome to Fossa: One of the signs at the entrance to the parish from the Killorglin side

AN attractive welcome awaits all motorists arriving to the parish of Fossa thanks to a joint effort by the local community development association and Kerry County Council.

Three striking place name signs, set in attractive traditional stone and in both Irish and English, greet visitors arriving to the parish from Killarney from Killorglin and from the Milltown road and they add a quality touch to an area that takes is visual image very seriously.

The project was initiated by the Fossa Community Development Association and grant aid to help finance the stonework was provided by Kerry County Council under the Community Enhancement Programme 2020.

Meanwhile, at this month’s meeting of Killarney Municipal District Council it was confirmed that footpaths along the N72, from Fossa Cross, at the Golden Nugget, to the Liebherr Container Cranes plant, are to be included in an application for funding to be submitted to Transport Infrastructure Ireland for consideration.
