How can you buy Killarney?
Simple answer: You can’t.
As this spectacular snapshot clearly demonstrates, it’s little wonder that Ireland’s premier tourist town is affectionately and deservedly known around the world as Beauty’s Home or, indeed, Heaven’s Reflex.
And it’s easy to see why.
This fabulous picture-postcard image, showing a truly magnificent sunset, was captured this Tuesday evening, on a humble smartphone, by Tony Huggard, proprietor of the Lake Hotel, which is located right on the shores of the Lakes of Killarney.
It was taken from an upper floor of the building and it beautifully captures the sun, its day’s work done, slowly descending with the scorching red sky reflecting on and illuminating the still waters with Torc mountain and Mangerton mountain providing the perfect frame.
And if that wasn’t enough beauty to content with, it also puts a real focus on the floodlit 12th century McCarthy Mór Castle which is right at the water’s edge just a short stroll along a narrow pathway from the hotel.
Little wonder it is often said the Killarney was the place God made when he was in a particularly good mood.
In fact, such is the end result, he must have been ecstatic.
