KILLARNEY has welcomed home its latest All-Ireland champions.
Killarney Golf Club’s senior ladies’ team clinched the national senior cup title in convincing fashion at the Royal Curragh Golf Club in Kildare at the weekend.
Despite stiff opposition from Roscommon, The Heath, Royal Portrush, The Island, Lahinch, Royal County Down and outgoing champions Kilkenny, they made it through the quarter-finals and semi-finals before registering a terrific victory in the decider.
Managed by the experienced Mary Geaney, the all-star Killarney team that brought glory to the club comprised lady captain Amy Arthurs, Anne Moynihan, Valerie Clancy, Mairead martin, Clare Keating, Eimear O’Donnell, Mary Sheehy, Kelly Brotherton.
