Election fever has certainly taken a firm grip in Killarney with Tánaiate Micheál Martin spending a number of hours in he town, pressing the flesh, knocking on doors and meeting the voters with candidate Linda Gordon Kelleher.

He was in the county for a visit to the TransAtlantic Cable Station in Dingle and he stopped off in Killorglin to campaign with Cllr Michael Cahill before moving on to Killarney to do the rounds with the first-time candidate who works locally as a solicitor.
Minister Martin led the FF entourage on a tour of the town, meeting business owners and hearing their concerns before he called to houses in Bishop Moynihan Crescent, Marian Terrace and Dalton’s Avenue where he met votes and sought their support for his local candidates.
Taoiseach Simon Harris was also recently in Killarney and it’s safe to assume that they will both return before polling day which, informed speculation suggests, might be a great deal sooner than many people suspect.
