JACK O’Connor has turned to a Tyrone man to help him guide the Kerry team for the next two seasons
He has confirmed that Red Hand man Paddy Tally will join his management team after stepping down as manager of Down after a three-year stint.
Tally’s ties with the county, who play in Division 2 of the National League, ended when they suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Donegal in this year’s championship.
A sports science specialist and an experienced defensive coach, Tally has previously worked with his native county under Mickey Harte and he also spent some time as a defensive coach with Galway under Kevin Walsh.
The Tyrone native also coached Derry and he bossed the line for St Mary’s University in Belfast when they the Sigerson Cup in 2017 and it is known that Jack O’Connor is a big fan of his coaching methods.
It is also been confirmed that respected strength and conditioning expert Jason McGahan will remain in the Kerry set-up and he will be assisted by Arthur Fitzgerald.
Diarmuid Murphy and Mike Quirke have already been named as selectors.
