AN annual swim gala, which provides an opportunity for young children and teenagers to showcase the swimming skills and talents they acquired during coaching lessons to their friends and parents, will be held at the Aquila Club in the Gleneagle Hotel on Friday, November 29.

And everyone will leave the event as a winner as all the participants will receive special commemorative gifts with medals going to the individual race winners.
There will be races in several categories and over a number of distances with swimmers from under seven to 13 taking to the water. There will also be some fun novelty races on the day such as a swim teachers and parents’ race, relay races and a family race with the winners of the latter receiving the Aquila Club perpetual trophy. The cost of entering the swim gala is €10 and registration must be before Sunday, November 24.
“The aim of the Gala is to promote participation in sport and in particular swimming as we believe swimming is such an essential life skill that all children should acquire,” said swim instructor Dieter Gogsch.
“Swimming is one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland and our team at the Aquila Club endeavours to promote the health and fitness benefits for children and adults alike,” he added.
