Stylish Siobhan is the best dressed lady

STYLISH Siobhan Coakley had heads turning at Listowel Races this Friday when she was crowned Queen of Fashion.

Wearing a blush pink brocade suit from Topshop, with a matching headpiece by Kerry milliner Aine Kremenskiene, Siobhan, from Gneeveguilla, was the winner on ladies’ day despite real competition from fashion conscious punters from all around the country.

For her effort she won a prize of €3,000 and the use of a new Honda Civic for a year.

Siobhan, a publican who runs the Corner House Bar in Barraduff, said she was overwhelmed to have won.

“It’s unbelievable. The style here today was outstanding. I can;t believe it,” she said.

The celebrity judges on the day were actress Aoibhin Garrihy and stylist Marietta Doran and Aoibhin said they knew Siobhan was a winner from the moment they set eyes on her.

“It’s a suit you could wear to any occasion, not just the races. As soon as we saw her we know. She wears it so well, it’s effortless,” she said.

Joanne Foley, from Glin was second and received €1,000 while Niamh Doherty, Newmarket, who was third, collected a cheque for €500. The jazziest headpiece winner was Aoibhne McElhinney from Cork and the most iconic lady at the races was Moira O’Toole from Kilkenny.

The most stylish selfie prize went to Msrk Harrington from Newcastlewest who received €300. The most stylish young racer award was won by Stephen Harty and the best turned out stable groom was Brian Burns.

Meanwhile the winner of the Best Dressed Man competition was Tony O’Mahony, Tournafulla, Co Limerick, the runner-up was Ted Kelly, Youghal, Co Cork and dapper Killarney gentleman farmer Seanie O’Donoghue, was third.
