STUDENTS from a Killarney secondary school were briefed on crucial human rights issues at a workshop hosted by Amnesty International.
The event was held in Nano Nagle Place in Cork and transition year students from St Brigid’s Secondary School were in attendance.
The workshop involved identifying how various sectors of society in Ireland are being denied their basic human rights and the plight of refugees and homeless people was highlighted extensively.
The students examined and explored how these issues can be rectified and how they themselves can become part of the solution through various activities.
