KILLARNEY will host the Kerry Schools Cross-Country Championships which will be held at Knockreer on Friday, January, 20.
The first race will begin at 11.30am and the age groups and race distances will be:
- Minor: Girls 1,500m and Boys 2000m
- Junior: Girls 2000m and Boys 3000m
- Inter: Girls 3,000m and Boys 4,000m
- Senior: Girls 3,000m and Boys 5,000m
Kerry Schools medals will be presented to the first six individuals and the first three teams. Shields will be presented to the best overall school in girls and boys’ events. The current holders of the trophies are St Brigid’s Presentation, Killarney and Tralee CBS.
Qualification for the Munster Schools Cross-Country Championships is through the regional qualifiers at North and South Munster Championships and forthcoming fixtures include: January 27: South Munster Schools XC, Tramore Park, Cork.; January 26: North Munster Schools XC, Pallaskenry, Co Limerick; February 16: Munster Schools XC, Tramore Park, Cork and March 3: Irish Schools XC, Mallusk, Belfast.
