Squad to return from the capital by bus

Fitzgerald Stadium: Homecoming

The Killarney homecoming for the Kerry senior football squad next Monday evening will take place in Fitzgerald Stadium – if the Kingdom win on Sunday.

Hundreds of people are expected to flock to the venue where the players and management will be introduced to the crowds with a DJ lined up to churn out appropriately lively tunes.

THE BIG MATCH COUNTDOWN

It is understood the squad will return from Dublin by bus and head directly to Tralee where, win or lose, a reception is scheduled to take place.

The street will be closed off to traffic for four hours from 4.30pm.

If they win the game on Sunday and bring home the Sam Maguire cup, the party will continue later in the evening when they will travel on to Killarney by road and, instead of the traditional welcome in the Glebe car park, a reception has been provisionally scheduled for Fitzgerald Stadium.

The traditional post-match get-together in Dublin on Sunday night will take place at the D2 on Harcourt Street from 9.00pm with the team scheduled to make an appearance later on the night.

Tickets are €20 and the event will be strictly for those aged over 20.
