Spraoi Chiarraí to provide great open air sounds

A FREE open air concert, featuring traditional Irish music, song, dance and storytelling, will be held on the grounds of Killarney House and Gardens this Saturday at 2.00pm.

The Spraoi Chiarraí production features the finest young local talent and this is the 13th year of the summer sessions which has been made possible through local sponsorship.

The first of seven two-hour concerts this Saturday will feature Sean Kelliher from Fossa on banjo, Thomas Barrett from Castleisland on accordion Spraoi Chiarraí producer Tim O’Shea on guitar, vocals and bodhrán and the Mary Philpot set dancers will also be there.

Open to all, this family entertainment is sponsored this year by Kerry County Council’s Arts Office, Killarney Chamber of Commerce and Kerry Gems Publishing. The series will include five evening concerts in St Mary’s Church of Ireland and two open air events at Killarney House. All indoor concerts are at 8pm and outdoor performances are at 2pm.
