Spraoi Chiarraí to hit the high notes

DANCERS , singers and musicians will add an extra summer sparkle at Killarney House – recently renovated at a cost of €7 million – next Saturday when the annual Spraoi Chiarraí comes to life.

This Killarney based traditional music, song and dance and storytelling performance collective features exciting young talent in a series of free summertime concerts, both indoor and outdoor.

Music is by Sean Kelliher Fossa on banjo and Thomas Barret Castleisland on accordion) joined by Spraoi Chiarraí producer director Tim O’Shea on guitar, vocals and bodhrán.

The family entertainment show is sponsored by Kerry County Council’s Arts Office, Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce and Kerry Gems.

There are five evenings in concert in St Mary’s Church of Ireland and two open air trips to the cottage at Killarney House.

This year group has also been asked to perform for the three days of Puck Fair in August.
