Spillane comes in for Moynihan

Peter Keane: One change in personnel

KERRY boss Peter Keane has made one change in personnel and a number of positional switches for the long journey to Breffni Park, Cavan on Sunday for the second of their National League outings.

Killian Spillane comes in at right corner forward in place of Spa’s Dara Moynihan who impressed greatly when he started in place of James O’Donoghue last weekend.

Peter Keane still has to plan without the sizeable Dr Crokes contingent who are fine-tuning their preparations for their All-Ireland senior club semi-final and he is also deprived of the services David Clifford, who will be out for several weeks, and Kevin McCarthy, who has suffered a broken hand. Gavin Crowley was injured in Sigerson Cup action during the week. James O’Donoghue is also absent on Sunday.

David Moran returns from honeymoon to take a seat on the bench and Jason Foley, Mark Griffin and Shane Enright are also listed as substitutes.

Rathmore’s Shane Ryan stays between the posts while Jack Sherwood of Firies again slots in at full back. Legion’s Jonathan Lyne, who made an impressive return against Tyrone after being off the inter-county scene for a full season, is named at half forward but switches wings with Stephen O’Brien moving to the corner.

Tommy Walsh, who returns to the inter-county fray for the first time since 2016, is again listed among the substitutes.

Kerry’s will be hoping to add to the two points they collected in their opener against Tyrone in Killarney last Sunday with Peter Keane’s charges registering a four-point victory after a tenacious defensive display

In the absence of the Dr Crokes players, Rathmore’s Paul Murphy will again captain the side.
