Spa honours club’s great achievers

THE Spa players that played such an integral role in East Kerry’s thrilling Kerry Senior Football Championship victory were the special guests at the club’s annual awards ceremony at the weekend.

Award recipients Triona Mangan, Dinny Doolan, Dan O’Donoghue, Mags Cronin and Thomas Cronin and at back, Shane Fenton, James Devane, Shane Cronin, Eoin Fitzgerald, Niall McCarthy, Michael Foley, David Spillane, Evan Cronin and Seán Cronin

And one of them, Dan O’Donoghue, was also crowned Spa’s Senior Player of the Year after a string of hugely impressive performance in all competitions all through the season.

Others honoured at the celebration in the Torc Hotel were:

Lifetime Achievement Award: Dinny Doolan

Social/Cultural Person of the Year: Triona Mangan

Spa’s Tráth na gCeist team Sean Hickey, Donal Hickey, Ian Coffey and Emer O’Keeffe

Ladies Player of the Year: Mags Cronin

Junior Player of the Year: Shane Fenton

Young Player of the Year: Thomas Cronin

The Spa Scór na nÓg question time team members, Seán Hickey, Donal Hickey, Ian Coffey and Emer O’Keeffe, were also congratulated on the night for reaching the All-Ireland final.
