THE spa staff at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel in Killarney has teamed up with the Kerry Hospice Foundation to raise awareness of and financial support for the charity.

Working closely with Director of Nursing, Mari O’Connell and Clinical Nurse Manager, Eimear Hallissey, they will link up with the Kerry Specialist Palliative Care Service to offer three complimentary reflexology treatments at the start of each month.

The palliative service will be in a position to offer these treatments to those in need.

Three spa therapists from the hotel have completed training with specialist cancer care reflexologist Claire O’Grady and they successfully completed Christine Clinton’s cancer care course as well as a massage for people living with cancer course which was conducted by Gayle McDonald.

“Medical treatment is exhausting on both mind and body and to know that we can assist in alleviating some of the negative impact is a wonderful feeling,” said Yvette Ryan, a therapist at Aghadoe Heights since 2005.

“It is important that we highlight these services and that those that require our assistance can seek solace in the tranquillity of an environment focussed on personal wellness and mental wellbeing,” she added.
