Social care worker is crowned Kerry Rose

KERRY has a new Rose.

Celine O’Shea will carry the Kingdom flag into this year’s Rose of Tralee festival after being crowned at the Kerry selection on Saturday night.

The 25-year-old is a social care worker and works as a dementia activities facilitator in St Luke’s Home in Cork which was her sponsor for the event.

Celine, from Caherciveen, is currently completing a postgraduate certificate in dementia care with Trinity College Dublin. She loves to travel and has already visited Australia, Canada, Thailand, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy and America.

Celine said she loves remaining connected to her local community. A real sports enthusiast, she has played football and rowing and she loves track and field athletics.

Celine also enjoys playing tag rugby and this month she will climb Carrauntoohil to raise money for St Luke’s Home and Pieta house.

The black tie gala selection night was hosted by TV presenter and Rose veteran Daithí Ó Sé in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee.
