AC Rolling scored a narrow 1-0 victory over Banterlona to clinch the Killarney Athletic-Killarney Credit Union seven-a-side soccer title at Woodlawn last night.
It was a very tight game which could have gone either way right up to the end and both sides had to battle with very wet conditions.
It was 0-0 at the break but just into the second half Robert O’Shea scored a cracker of a goal. AC Rolling’s goalkeeper pulled off some fine saves to keep his side in the game.
The player of the match award went to Robert O’Shea for his outstanding performance.
In the Under 16 final Beaufort Golf Club scored a 2-1 win over Benteke Fried Chicken.
It was a very entertaining game which again could have gone either way but Josh Fleming was in flying form for Beaufort Golf Club and scored two great goals.
Josh also received the coveted Johnny Heffernan Memorial Shield for being player of the tournament.
There were a number presentations made at the finals by Killarney Athletic FC.
The referees Anthony Morrison and Paddy Osbourne received special trophies for all the help throughout the tournament and a special presentation was presented to Jordan Moriarty who helped out every night.
The Over 35 tournament will be decided tonight with Fleming’s Taxis taking on Tim Jones Butchers in a 12-mitites-a-side decider kicking off at 7.00pm.
