Two long-serving staff members have retired from St Brendan’s College in Killarney after many years of service.

Geraldine Cunningham, following many years in the UK, was a valued member of the administration staff for the past nine years, joining in 2014 and contributing greatly to the organisation of transition year.

Michael Leahy, meanwhile, began his career as a teacher of accounting and business studies at St Brendan’s in 1983 and over a 40-year period he has contributed hugely to the culture and education on offer at the school.

Whether it was in his role as the head of the business department, a selector with the senior footballers, as an advocate for students in his role as year head or ensuring the visual heritage on the walls of the school through his curation of the college archive, Michael has been 100 per cent invested in St Brendan’s College.
