St Brendan’s College, Killarney 1-9
Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne, Dingle 0-12
ST Brendan’s College, Killarney and Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne will meet again next Saturday after today’s keenly contest Munster College SFC Corn Uí Mhuirí final left the sides deadlocked at a busy Fitzgerald Stadium.
Both defences were very solid and scoring chances were kept to the minimum though, over the hour, the Eamonn Fitzmaurice trained Dingle side looked to be the more likely to triumph.
The wides tally for both sides was a matter of some concern – particularly for The Sem – and it was clear all through that there was precious little separating them.
Although Pobalscoil had a narrow lead at the break, and were still edging it as the second half progressed, opportunist St Brendan’s full forward Emmet O’Shea pounced on a rebound for the game’s only goal, in the 42nd minute and, for a period of time, it looked as it could well be the decisive score.

But plucky Chorca Dhuibhne never gave up the chance and with the Gary McGrath trained Sem registering a number of wides, from very scorable positions, the west Kerry side were sticking to the task at hand and it was rally in the melting as the game entered its frantic final minutes.
Last year’s Kerry minor captain Paul O’Shea – a classy operator – looked to have won it for the Killarney school when he edged them 1-9 to 0-11 in front in the 53rd minute but Ruaidhrí Ó Beaglaoich levelled the game and set the scene for what promises to be an engaging replay next Saturday.
