YOUNG Killarney women who might fancy their chances of clinching the coveted Miss Ireland crown have been invited to enter this year’s Miss Kerry pageant to give themselves a good shot at the title.
Those who enter must be between the ages of 17 and 24 and, organisers have stressed, there is absolutely no height restriction.
The emphasis will be very much on glamour and fun as the contestants are put through their paces – in a relatively relaxed setting – and they will take to the catwalk wearing cocktail wear before setting heads turning in full evening attire.
Last year’s pageant final – held in McSorleys Club in Killarney – was a huge hit and 18-year-old Sinead O’Hanlon, from Listowel, was a popular winner.
The north Kerry beauty went on to figure in the top 15 in the Miss Ireland contest and she has enjoyed a very busy and event-packed year.
Organisers say events like Miss Kerry can be the important first step on the ladder to a great modeling career and it will certainly ensure the winner is very much in the limelight throughout 2015 and beyond.
