A NEW arts theatre, established to showcase the incredible creativity and artistic flair in Killarney, will present its eagerly-awaited first production this Friday and it will run for the next three nights.
The Glebe Theatre, formed by talented local Sean D Clifford, with great support and encouragement from others with a passion for the arts, will stage Dark which is the theatre founder’s own work.
The piece first opened in the English Theatre in Berlin in 2012 and it was a smash hit. It also received a great reception from audiences at St John’s Theatre as well as the Samuel Beckett Theatre in Trinity College Dublin.
Sean describes Dark as an investigation into the absurdity of expectations, a humorous depiction of a man or woman’s complete dependency on the ‘Powers that Be’, especially when it comes to the welfare of self.
The Glebe Theatre is located on Milk Market Lane and Dark will also be staged on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights at 8.00pm.
