Whatever about Paris in the spring, the Killarney Scorchers cheerleading team certainly made their mark in the French capital at the weekend when they won a bid to participate in the World Cheerleading Summit.
They turned in a brilliant performance at the Future Cheer event held in the magical surroundings of Disneyland Paris for Europe’s most prestigious cheer and dance competitions. It was a very unique and unforgettable event at which the Scorchers got to compete with cheerleading squads from all over Europe
Future Cheer is recognised as one of the top international cheerleading and dance companies in the world and it sends teams to compete at the Varsity Summit held in Walt Disney World, Florida, USA each year with the event in France an official bid promoting event.
Scorchers previously participated at the world event in Florida in 2018 with 20 athletes on the team, ranging from 10 years-of-age to 17.
