School had a ball with production of Belle

Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra in Rathmore has once again proven its dedication to the arts with a dazzling production of Belle which captivated audiences over two nights of packed performances and matinees for the local primary schools.

Held in the school gym, the production showcased the incredible talent, hard work and dedication of students, staff and the wider school community.

From the moment the curtain rose, the audience was transported into the enchanted world of Belle, with stunning set designs, vibrant costumes and outstanding musical numbers.

Under the expert direction of music teacher Rebecca Stryker, the cast delivered performances full of energy, emotion and quality beyond their years.

Principal Mairéad Lucey, praised the production and said the show is a testament to the creativity and passion of the students and staff.

“It highlights not only their artistic abilities but also teamwork, commitment and their willingness to give more than just class time,”she said.

“I encourage the students to build on the confidence they have developed throughout the rehearsal process and final production,” she said.

Ms Lucey also thanked the wider school community who rallied behind the musical and enabled the talented students to tread the boards.

Behind the scenes, the dedication of the musical committee and production team, including the choreographer, set and costume designers and technical crews, was instrumental in bringing the musical to life.

Parents, students, and members of the community praised the production and were particularly impressed by the energy of the performers and the high-quality production values.

Rebecca Stryker, who directed the show, conveyed her sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this production such a remarkable success.

“A sincere thanks to our incredible students and staff for their hard work, to our community for showing up in such large numbers and to our sponsors and school management for their support,” she remarked.
