
A BRIGHT spark transition year student from St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School in Killarney has been selected to participate in the Irish Junior Science Olympiad planned for Dublin City University.
Sarah Randles has been selected as a result of her outstanding achievements in science and maths in the Junior Certificate State Examinations.
She will travel to DCU on Saturday, November 5 to take part in the National Olympiad and, if successful, she will progress to the International Junior Science Olympiad in Bali, Indonesia in December,
The Irish Junior Science Olympiad is a science competition for students who are under the age of 16. The top three students are awarded gold medals, the next three receive silver medals and the next three students are awarded bronze.
The gold and silver medal winners represent Ireland at international level and the bronze medal winners are on the reserve list.
