The entire Kerry Way consists of over 200 kilometres of ancient paths, seascapes and mountains and the weather conditions were excellent at the weekend.
Race director, Eileen Daly, said she was delighted with this year’s event which had its base camp at Killarney Racecourse.
“We were blessed with the weather, especially for athletes running through the night. We had the best volunteers along the route, Sneem is synonymous with the home fire kept burning brightly by Una O’Neill and crew,” she remarked.

“The cooperation from the landowners and the South Kerry Development Partnership is testament to the pride which they preserve the most beautiful landscape in the world, allowing us to share, thus preserving the heritage and unique culture sacred to South Kerry”.
The Kerry Way Ultra showcases the wilderness of the county as it is more off the beaten track.
The overall winner was Sam Hand from Limerick who ran the 200km in a time of 23:56.33.
The overall female winner was Kristen O’Sullivan from Cork in an incredible time of 32:48.28.
