KILLARNEY was greatly saddened this Thursday to learn of the untimely passing of Sandra Ryan (née O’Shea) who grew up and lived on Port Road but was married and living in Douglas, Cork.

The mother of two, a former student at St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School, is fondly remembered in her native town where she was hugely popular and had an engaging, gentle and caring personality, having seldom been seen without a smile on her face.

Sandra, who passed away peacefully today at Marymount University Hospital in Cork, is survived by her husband Christian and she was the much loved mother of Fintan and Emer.

Predeceased by her dad Sonny and, in 2008, her sister Rosemary O’Shea-Parr, she is further survived by her mum, Pat, and UK based brother Colman O’Shea who was well known in Killarney as an outstanding Dr Crokes footballer, basketball star and athlete in his youth.

Sandra is also mourned by her father-in-law Nick, mother-in-law Christina, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

She will repose at Temple Hill Funeral Home, Boreeenmanna Road, Cork on Friday from 4pm to 5pm, followed by prayers.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney at 10.30am on Saturday followed by burial in Aghadoe Cemetery.

The Mass will be live-streamed on https://www.churchservices.tv/killarneycathedral and all those attending the church service are asked to please respect social distancing guidelines.
