THERE was great excitement in the Killarney Credit Union when the four winners of a competition to design a mascot for the branch received their prizes.
The competition attracted nearly 70 entries and the winning name selected was a popular choice with four naming the mascot Rua.
Killarney Credit Union Youth Officer, Joy Clifford, remarked: “Rua the red deer will play a big part in our youth activities in the future and will be visiting schools in September”.
The winners of the competition were Kate Barry, Firies, Isabella Dennehy, Farranfore, Caragh Lynch, Kenmare and Jeff Power, Keel, who attended the prizegiving ceremony with their parents and families to receive a goodie bag.
“We are also now welcoming our younger members to enter our mascot colouring competition. The entries will be displayed in the Credit Union offices and the best coloured picture will win a prize,” said Joy.
The picture to be coloured can be picked up at any branch and the winner will be selected at the end of June.
