
A Killarney hotel with a multi-award winning restaurant has been shortlisted for another prestigious honour and is pitched against some of the best fine dining establishments in the country.
Rozzers Restaurant at the Killeen House Hotel is one of just eight venues in contention for the Good Food Ireland Culinary Haven of the Year award.
The others on the shortlist are Ballymaloe House Hotel in Cork, BrookLodge and Macreddin Village in Wicklow, The Bushmills Inn in Antrim, Kileavey Castle Estate in Armagh, Cashel House Hotel in Galway, Rathmullan House in Donegal and Ghan House in Louth.
The awards ceremony will take place at the K Club in Straffan, Co Kildare next Monday night and the guest of honour will be Enterprise, Trade and Employment Minister Simon Coveney.
Other Kerry businesses nominated in different categories include the Europe Hotel and Resort (hotel of the year), Leaf & Larder Delicatessen and Bakery in Killorglin (shop of the year) and Realt na Mara Shellfish, Cromane (fish and seafood producer of the year).
The €150-a-head event will be attended by 300 guests, including Irish and international chefs, buyers, food and drink writers an industry leaders.
