A FORMER Killarney Athletic player is currently lining out for the Irish team at the World Medical Football Championships in Prague.

Dr Risteárd Ó Lionáird has seen game time in the first two matches, a heavy 0-4 loss to Great Britain and a 2-0 victory over Lithuania.

In a team dominated by medics based in the capital, Risteárd, who works in cardiology in Cork University Hospital, brings a little Kerry guile to the left wing.

The Irish take on Hungary this Tuesday evening in a bid to reach the knockout stages of the tournament.

The World Medical Football Championships has attracted 22 nations from five continents bringing more than 1,000 visitors to Prague.
