KERRY County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland have confirmed a €3.5 million pavement improvement project for Killorglin which will commence construction mid-January.
It comprises approximately 1.3 km of the N70 national secondary road in Killorglin town and approximately 1.4 km of the N70 national secondary road from Tinnahally to Stealroe, east of Killorglin.
Contractors GLAS Civil Engineering Ltd will carry out the construction works which will take approximately eight months to complete.
To take advantage of reduced traffic volumes in the low tourism season, construction works will commence on the town section with traffic management controls being put in place from Tuesday next with a one-way system in force. It is aimed to complete the Killorglin town section of the works as soon as possible before the busy tourism season.
Kerry County Council and GLAS Civil Engineering Ltd said they will endeavor to minimise delays and disturbance in the delivery of a valuable project.
