It will be back to the future on the dance floor for a whole generation who boogied the weekend nights away at a popular Killarney nightclub in the 1980s and 90s.
The parents’ association of Raheen National School are organising the Revelles reunion in the Killarney Avenue Hotel, on Saturday, April 19, to help finance a pitch upgrade and community walking track development at the school.
The trip down memory lane will guarantee a night of nostalgia with the greatest hits from that era, disco anthems and a slow set or two for all the romantics with DJ Niall ‘Botty’ O’Callaghan manning the decks. The event is strictly for over 21s and there will be a late-night bar exemption.

Whether it’s bellbottoms, denim, leather or lycra, the dress code is optional and fancy dress is not essential.
Tickets can be purchased online from Eventbrite or, alternatively, from Raheen N.S. Parents Association members or the Killarney Avenue Hotel, The Caragh Restaurant in Killarney, O’Donoghue’s Filling Station, Frankie’s in Barraduff or O’Brien’s Service Station in Glenflesk.
Raheen is a two-teacher school catering for of 33 pupils. The school field is unplayable for many months of the year and rarely used by the school children. The plan is to drain and upgrade the playing surface of the field while providing an accessible community walking track around the perimeter of the field.
Much of the work is to be completed by volunteers but to commence the project, significant funds need to be raised for various project costs. The initial fundraising goal is €35,000.
