Respected lecturer lined up for Killarney event

A PUBLIC talk on the topic of exploring family life has been organised by the Diocese of Kerry as part of its annual priests’ forum in Killarney.

The guest speaker will be Dr Patricia Kieran who is a well-known and highly respected lecturer in Religious Education in the Department of Learning, Society and Religious Education at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.

Her specific research interests include the manner in which teachers and children might explore complex and sensitive issues surrounding religions and beliefs in a multi-belief context, teaching world religions in Catholic schools and inter-denominational education

The public lecture will take place at 8.00pm on Tuesday, January 9 in the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney and all are welcome to attend.

The event is part of the Diocese of Kerry’s preparation for the World Meeting of Families and the visit of Pope Francis next summer.
