AN innovative group of local business interests has joined forces to promote the attractions of a number of unique holiday destinations surrounding the MacGillycuddy Reeks mountain range.
Those involved in the Hidden Valleys of the Reeks project are combining their facilities, their knowledge, their expertise and their passion to encourage more visitors to come to enjoy one of the most spectacular attractions the country has to offer.
The group is concentrated on promoting the lure of visitor attractions such as the Gap of Dunloe, Black Valley, Caragh Lake, Glencar, Fossa, Beaufort, Bridia Valley and Ladies View.
A total of 45 local businesses have signed up and their first venture was to produce a physical map, released last October, to highlight the area and to give directions to its attractions and places of particular interest.
The group has now gone digital with the creation of its own website.
The digital portal showcases the businesses involved as well as offering visitors and locals information on what to do and see when visiting the area.
“Over the next few months there will be more information added outlining the different walks, tours and activities to do in the area and provided by the members,” spokesman John Moriarty told KillarneyToday.com.
“We will have a calendar of events and also special offers provided by the businesses who are members.
“We also plan on releasing a mobile app for people while they are out and about, giving them all the information from the map and the website in their hand,” he said.
